I see many that say violent entertainment is ok but the fact is that it isn’t ok and it doesn’t mean that it will make you be a raving lunatic if you watch them but many other things.
“There are hundreds of studies showing a connection between violence on TV and its impact on children — from aggressive behavior to sleep disturbances.
third-, fourth-, and fifth-grade children who watch media violence are more likely to treat their peers with rudeness and mean behavior. (Look at some people that support violence and then show hostile responses.)
Only a very tiny fraction of kids actually commit criminal violence. But even among those children who don’t, they may become more hostile, more desensitized, and more frightened.”
Also ratings don’t help and to avoid violence is a joke since it’s so wide spread that u can’t escape it. Some that think it’s healthy to watch it and causes less violence doesn’t really know every fact.
The people that say that violent entertainment doesn’t do anything are trying to sell you something. And the research that says its all BS is mostly bias and paid for by the companies that support violence. It’s like asking a terrorist to inspect his own country for nukes. Lol
But most of all explain to the kid things and take time because he will eventually see the negative things. Every year new studies support and that fact that violence does affect kids. Some game companies like EA know this very well and take pride that they don’t make games like GTA3 and are avoid making games like that. Even the master of horror Alfred Hitchcock knew where to draw the line on violence.
Even the military uses many techniques to desensitize soldiers, and they know far too well what works and what doesn’t; so they come on many times on TV going against violent entertainment. Funny how all the experts say it’s not good but the companies that make a profit from violent images and people that know ½ about it say it’s good. What some don’t know may hurt them, and it seems that more people cry out not true and get their opinions heard more and the more they say it the more people believe it. The most important place not have a violent environment is in your personal life, and if that is non violent and is mixed with violent entertainment all the time then their will be some problems for kids. Adults are stronger to take more violence but many people don’t know what is best and aren’t smart enough to understand.
For more research look on the net and there is far more evidence that’s its bad than good.

The various entertainment media industries have lots of money to spend on trying to convince the general public and political leaders that there is nothing to worry about. And they do spend large sums on this. Unlike the research community, which is interested in scientific truth, the media industry is very concerned about profits and will do almost anything to protect those profits. A recent book by James Steyer titled “The Other Parent: The Inside Story of the Media’s Effect on Our Children,” reveals much about how this works in the U.S.. I suspect that most people would be shocked by many of the revelations contained in this book (published by Simon & Schuster, 2002). I personally have witnessed media industry lobbyists lie about a factual issue, watched them get caught in that lie, and then seen the same lobbyist deliver the same lie to a different group a year later. So, whenever listening to an expert, one must first distinguish between real vs. industry-supported experts.

Ask yourself if God, Christ, or another watch and encourage violent entertainment?
