you dont need the directx 7 sdk.

you can use the directx 8 or 9 sdk to write directx 7 programs.

You can download the complete (or whatever parts you want) DirectX 7 SDK at the DevZone with an All Access Pass.

Thanks dear. Got the SDK. Infact I need two files named

d3dutil.h
d3dmath.h

from DX7 SDK.

The new (DX8) SDK contain d3dxmath.h and no d3dutil.h
When I use these new files, I get compilation errors.
So, it will be better if anybody send me these two files.

These files are located is DX7 SDK samples directory for D3DIM, under the D3DFRAME directory.

Thanks

I got the above mentioned two files.

Thanks for all your replies.
You cant make DX7 Apps with DX8 or DX9 SDK cos when i try putting a DX8 mesh "*.x" file in to a VB Project with DirectX 7 i get an automation error which keeps irritating me, i read so much about directX 7 that i dont even like DX8 SDK anymore!! Please some one help me with the automation error or atleast prove me right about the compatibility of DX 8 and DX7
