KDevelop

I just got my new Linux installation up and running. I installed KDE this time to see what it is like and I saw that there was some KDevelop package installed. Not really knowing what would await me, I launched it and was confronted with a nice IDE for software development. So here comes my question: Has anyone used it before, and what are your impressions? Is it worth trying getting used to it, or is a good old text editor with a well written makefile still the better option?

Absolutely. I'm currently using KDevelop 2.1.5 to code an SDL game and works very, very well. The ide is pretty like Visual Studio, so you won't have much problems getting used to it.

In my oppinion is the best ide you'll find to code for linux.

Ps: And just wait for the (less buggy) version of KDevelop 3. It is more than promising. Those guys are making magic.
