I''m considering using some samples in a game I''m making. Mostly just a crap load of samples less than a few seconds. I''m wondering if anyone knows the legality of sampling of this nature. I know it has been an issue for the music industry and I have no idea on how it worked out. thanks,

Though it depends on the samples, most clips like that are free for use because they''re terribly hard to protect under any circumstance, what with being so short and in some cases meaningless.

Legally, any sample is illegal unless explicitly stated otherwise.

Practically, you have little to fear from samples so small that they're unrecognisable. If they're recognisable though, and someone finds out, you could be in trouble.
