12:02PM EST 1 + 2 + 0 + 2= 5 ; 12 + 2= 14 and 1 + 4= 5 ; This is true for every minute of every day. 11:57PM EST 1 + 1 + 5 + 7= 14 and 1 + 4= 5 11 + 57= 68 and 6 + 8= 14 and 1 + 4= 5 ; This is true to every minute of every day. If X is a number of length n in base B, X can be written as X = B^0 * x0 + B^1 * x1 + ... + B^n * xn then S(X) is calculated as follows S(X) = S(x0+x1+...+xn) if X >= B (*) S(X) = X if X<B Now, if we choose two arbitrary numbers X and Y, if my theory is correct, then: S(X+Y) = S(x0+x1+...+xn + y0+y1+...+yn) S(X+Y) = S[ B^0*(x0+y0) + B^1*(x1+y1) + ... + B^n*(xn+yn) ] but we earlier concluded (*) that this could we written as S(x0+y0+x1+y1+...+xn+yn)which is just what we was going to show. This has obviously nothing to do with base 10, here''s an example with hexadecimal numbers: X = EF361AA Y = 518204B E+F+3+6+1+A+A + 5+1+8+2+0+4+B = 5A and 5+A = F EF361AA + 518204B = 140B81F5 and 1+4+0+B+8+1+F+5 = 2D and 2+D = F ~~~ Signature: ~~ "Satan sent me to destroy the video game industry." - Trigger(my alter ego) "God is a game designer too and his game, ''Life'' " - Me "Squirrles make me horny." - Sean Randy Rowlen Uranus

Way to cross post three times...

12:03PM EST

1 + 2 + 0 + 3= 6 ;

12 + 3= 15 and 1 + 5= 6 ;

Now...what's your point?

Should you be forwarding this to everyone in your address book instead of posting it on forums?

And I think quoting yourself is extremely tacky, but thats just me.

Despite the fact that I cross-post, you guys ignore the theory? Oh well, I should keep this type of information to myself since no one cares.

If you left this in the Math and Physics forum, people would be happy...as it is, I don''t see how it relates to general programming, and I don''t know what you expected in the lounge! Perhaps if you remove all but the Math & Physics post, life will be good!

To follow the theory
Should this
12 + 3= 15 and 1 + 6= 6 ;
be
12 + 3= 15 and 1 + 5= 6 ;
Puffy Tab embarrassed my theory!!

jk, I might delete all of them except for the one in the Math forum but that forum is dead. That is why I cross-post.

that''s not particularly interesting.
just look at only the hours
12:
1 + 2 = 3
or 12 -> 1 + 2 = 3
kinda silly, if you ask me - it''s the same!
It doesn''t have to do with times. For any number, you can split it up any way you want (not just in half), and continue to add together the digits, and you''ll always get the same thing.

456789
-> 456,789
(4+5+6) + (7+8+9) = 15 + 24
(1+5) + (2+4) = 6 + 6 = 12
1 + 2 = 3

456789
-> 4, 567, 89
(4) + (5+6+7) + (8+9) = 4 + 18 + 17
4 + (1+8) + (1+7) = 4 + 9 + 8 = 21
2 + 1 = 3

so do you consider this an interesting theory? personally it seems kind of trite, and I''m sure there''s a simple (and boring) explaination for it.
