You won''t earn a cent in America, if you can''t speak english.

Oh yes. I shouldn''t be so mean.
You mean a freelance game programmer? Depends on your skill and your publisher. Anywhere from nothing to millions I guess.
This hasn''t helped you? Well...ask another question. This time with more details.

You're giving yourself too much credit, you're not mean you're a total *take your pick expletive deleted*. I thought about ignoring you, but nahhh.

Onlyriver check the help wanted links on this and other programming sites. It should put you in the ballpark of what can be expected, based on your skill level.

Good Luck

Here in California, a Junior VB programmer can earn around $11 an hour. Of course, that figure is based on a single job offer I''ve seen.

Here in Austin, I''ve seen Junior level programmers (VB or C++) with a Bachelor''s degree come in at about 30,000 to 52,000 a year.

There is a 20% deficiency in Austin, TX for computer specialists in general.

Plus, it''s a great place to work. Several decent game companies here too... (ie Digital Anvil)

Cost of living is a bit more expensive here... I remember paying about 500 / mo. for an apartment in FL, the cheapest apartment I''ve found here in Austin is about $700 / mo. Just a FYI.

Yeah $500 is about right for a low-end 1 bedroom...

$700 is a bit steep for being the cheepest...I''ll keep that in mind

I have heard that there''s a lot of need for computer jobs in the west in general...like in Colorado and such
