i was wondering which complier i should get for C++. I''d like to get a free one (Dev C++ i think) because the commercial ones cost 70+. But if the commercial ones are so much better i could get that. And by the way im intrested in game programming

What operating system are you using? (I assume Windows but you never know)

For linux I recommend g++.

Depends who you''re asking. Personally: no, the commercial compilers and IDEs I''ve used do not qualify "$70 better." Dev C++ (it''s the IDE) uses GCC''s C and C++ compilers and GCC is a relatively well respected compiler collection. I highly recommend GCC, even if you turn out not to like Dev C++.

alright cool, thanx for the quick feedback, and by the way im doing everything in windows
Another IDE built for GCC on windows is MingWStudio. Since I stumbled upon it several weeks ago, I''ve been using it frequently. I never did like DevC++.
