arrghh.... I give up and try with the gamedev community, which is vast and wise... What is the name of this movie: - There is a vilain, a hero, and i think a girl to be rescued. - The vilain doesnt have his heart in his chest, instead its somewhere up high on a tower. - The hero, or some action occurs, and the heart drops to the ground from high up, killing the vilain - It seems to be really old, the first days of color movies... Cant really recall any more details... Jester Says: Visit Positronic Dreams!

its not so vague....

- also, the movie seemed to have a medievel setting, with knights and princesses, that sort of thing...
- i can also recall some sort of giant hand, big enough to grab a human, that watches the heart...

... not all villains have their hearts outside their chests, lol

maybe it was based off of that valderman, but it was very (how do you say it?) swashbuckling? (sp?)

Very theatrical in the old Errol Flynn style.

But that last scene stuck in my memory and now I would like to know which movie it was.

For sure it was fantasy, because of the Heart, the villain was probably some sort of wizard, and the proverbial demzel in distress waiting to be rescued...

I think I know the movie... the villain was a giant who couldn''t be killed because his heart was hidden inside an egg in a tower somewhere? And to save the girl/town/whatever the ''hero'' had to find the egg containing the giant''s heart, and crush it, killing the giant... which I always thought was so unfair since the giant was only bad because he had no heart.

No clue what the movie was called though.

Wasn''t that a Sinbad film? Think it was that kind of mythology anyway.

Those were the days, when damsels were all in distress and baddies were easily recognisable by their long mustaches.

Sounds like one of the old norwegian folk tales, actually. Don''t remember the name.

No, it sounds more like it's out of Russian mythology. There was that sort of demon who couldn't be killed because his soul was hidden inside an egg, the egg was hidden inside a frog, and the frog was inside of a rabbit, or something like that. And a clever gal whom the demon fancied managed to subtlely extract the information from him, get her hands on the egg, and flatten it out on the demon's brow, thus killing him... Nice!
On the other hand, yeah, I think that was a Simbad movie. Ah, ye good ole days...

*EDIT* Well, ktuluorion made it quite clear. It IS a Simbad movie...

ktuluorion, Sinbad seems really close to the target, but there is no mention of the tower, or the heart, egg, etc...

Yes, in the Prince of the Swords Corum kills the Prince of the swords by crushing his heart, hidden in a tower.

How old is this book?
Cause the image that i''ve got in my head from the movie is like one of those early day color movies, where the colors are super bright...

Definitly a 50s-60s movie....

quote:
This is the first of the books featuring Prince Corum also called the Prince in the Scarlet Robe. He is the last of the Vadhagh, his entire race having been exterminated by men who also maim Corum before he manages to escape them. Corum sets out for vengeance and encounters a sorcerer who grafts body parts from the evil Lost Gods onto him, replacing what was taken from him by men. In return for this Corum must undertake a quest.

Similar to the other early Michael Moorcock fantasy novels, this is written at a breakneck pace. Its 143 pages are crammed with more plot than many books three or four times its length. What this book does lack in comparison to these longer more recent fantasy novels is depth of characterisation and description.

The imaginings herein are at the author''s usual high level. This is fantasy fiction that is truly fantastic in setting, plot and scope. It may well not be to the taste of many fans of the modern breed of fantasy, but if shorter novels than today''s epic doorstep sized volumes are to your liking, then this might well be what you are looking for.
