RM in DirectX 8?

Hi all. I''m using Retained Mode simply to load .X meshes. Can we still access it in DirectX 8? I suppose all previous interfaces are there, but I thought I''d ask to be sure. Thanks!

If you want to use D3D8 you will have to say goodbye to retained mode. But D3D8 IM will have a .x loader function.

You DX8 classes will NOT have RM, but you can still use DX5-7 classes.
