E-Licensing

How exactly does E-Licensing work? I found this on another forum:
quote: 1. You purchase the game. 2. A confirmation email is sent to you, including your "Order number" 3. You download and install the game. 4. The first time you open the game, you will be prompted to license the game. The game will ask for your "Order number". 5. If you type in a valid order number, elicense downloads a little bit of code that unlocks the game, and allows you to play. I don''t know where this code goes - maybe your registry. Regardless, it''s not contained it the .exe file, or in any of the game directories. If you copy over the game files to a new computer, the license will not - I repeat, not - copy over as well.
Well, where does this little bit of code go? Is it the registry? I''m trying to figure out E-Licensing because I want to try and E-License a game. If anyone has any experience with E-Licensing or knows how it works technically, please lemme know. Thanks in advance. PS. I wasn''t quite sure where to put this topic, sorry if it''s in hte wrong place.. :/
