How is the unit portrait (the upclose shot of the currently selected unit, just to the left of the infocards) implemented in Warcraft3? Do they have some sort of multiple rendering context setup? Any guesses? Along that same thread, does anyone have any good resources/tutorials for multiple OpenGL rendering contexts? I have searched far and wide for a good tutorial/example on setting up MRCs but so far have came up empty-handed. Many thanks!

Lesson 42 on this site deals with multiple viewports. I hope that is what you wanted.

Hmm yes I think you are right about multiple view ports. 42 is an amazing tutorial WOW :o

Perhaps a better example of what might be multiple rendering
contexts is in the Warcraft3 World Editor - the second rendering context being in a static control on the left showing what unit/piece of terrain you''re about to place. Are there any other ways of implementing this that anyone knows about?
