ok, i learnt relations in school, but it has been a while since i worked with them. i don't remember a whole lot to be honest, so i am catching up. this might seem stupid, and trivial, but it would help me out. say i have the following relation on the set A = {1,2,3,4}: { (2,2) , (2,3) , (2,4) , (3,2) , (3,3) , (3,4) } this relation obviously fails to hold reflexive, symm, trans properties, i therefore assume it is not an equivalence relation. am i correct?
