see this list:

physics engines

there are a number of open source ones and some close source ones available for commerical use for free.
Thanks! I've had a search and can't find anything available under a mit/zlib license. Does anyone know of anything?

cheers
I know with ODE you can use the BSD license, which is pretty similar.
I like the DARK layout!
The Free Game Development Libraries article lists these. ODE seems to be the big one these days.

Here is an example of ODE being used in 2D. It's called Rollerball.
@Rob Loach

check out http://flatland.sourceforge.net/ , its basicly a 2d wrapper SDK over ODE, it has some impressive demos with it.
