After much searching, I still am not able to find the answer to what most would probably consider to be an elementary modeling question. How do you take a texture, one which you have created in say, Photoshop and apply it to the surface of a model? I've been working with Maya for a few months, and my models have gotten to the point where I'd like to start applying skins and textures to them. Any help would be great! EDIT: I did a search in the forums but didn't turn up much. There's a good chance I'm not entering the correct terminology. Also, if you have a good link, I'll take that as well! - Jonathan

The term for applying texture coordinates to a model is UV Mapping (or UV Unwrapping). Plug that (+ Maya) into google, it will come up with a lot of tutorials for you to try out.
