HGE (Haaf's Game Engine) is free!!!

HGE now can be used under LGPL !!! http://sourceforge.net/projects/hge Please, report about any bugs and request features :-)

I guess that it's your engine, StingerX. Could you give some more information on it? Also, some screenshots would be great.

OK, well it says hge at sf.net and it seems you can download it, but is it legit? cause the original hge.relishgames.com says nothing about this change. Let me check better.

hmnn It has gotten the source code too and the project admin seems to be Haaf himself, But it is weird that no information about this can be found in hge.relishgames.com

It is legit haaf announced it on the forum quite great, too bad I already switched to SDL just today. Haaf should update the page and make the sf.net page link to it.

And anyone who wants info about this engine, it is a 2D engine that encapsullates directx it is well documented and makes everything much easier, and has 4 blending modes I think.

We all love hge, but avoid triple posting man.

It was really helpful when starting game dev. on c++. And these are great news cause the source would be good to check when I start directx learning
