I've recently been working on a forum from scratch, and came onto a problem: When i put too many characters in a field, it wont process, because the server wont allow more than 5000 characters in the 'URI'. But, I installed phpbb2 on the same server, and created a post that was 15000 characters in length, and it processed fine. I was wondering, how do commercial forum systems pass the text into the database? Thanks
