hi, i try to make a game with sdl. i made some basics that help me to print windows and pictures on monitor. the result you can see here (http://marc.marc-und-antje.de/projekte/sdl/status.php). i don't know what will it be. i have two ideas: - an airport simulator where you can create runways, houses, etc. - a game like anno 1602 or anno 1503 if you have another idea please post it. thanks msp1

What about a minigolf game?
You can't go wrong with the easy ones to start off with.

How about a Tetris clone?
Or Snake?

I know only that which I know, but I do not know what I know.

Did you see his link? He's written an isometric engine with a GUI.
How about UFO:EU clone?
It seems to me that you would put a base working version right away.
It could be then upgraded quite nicely.[smile]

For example - drifting towards something like HOMM battle.
Or you could add scripting feature for new units descriptions.
Or you could focus on AI.
...
Looks nice :) You could make something like OgreBattle.
my siteGenius is 1% inspiration and 99% perspiration
This might sound strange, but an Isometric shooting game?
I program in my sleep, but when I sleep I use the partition in my head that doesnt have g++ or the .net library, so im kinda screwed.
I'd say either a Diablo-style RPG or an RTS of some sort. That's what I'm going to do once I get around to porting my FB ISO engine over to C++.
Make an X-Com: UFO Defense clone :D
"Game Programming" in an of itself does not exist. We learn to program and then use that knowledge to make games.
