To what should i set the refresh rate value in D3DDISPLAYMODE: to 0 (default) or to the highest Refresh Rate which are supported by the adapter? Does it really make a difference? Thx in advance Edited by - n3r0nix on March 29, 2001 1:05:20 PM

You really shouldn''t mess around with the refersh rate. Setting it to 0 will make DX use the default refresh rate, pretty much what you need There isn''t much difference in speeds anyhow, any refresh rate above 60Hz is enough.

if you put the rf to say 120 you will spend less time waiting for the screen sink makeing your game runn fast (most of the time)

so you should find the highes seported refesh rate and use it (but there is a changes that you can destroy the monter) if you my system my Video card can handle up to 120 hz my monter (sucks) can only go up to 56 windows thinks its ok to use up to 100 and so your software needs user input to find this speed so you dont destory hardware

Most games I know of only use default refresh rate, which I find confusing because it''s rather simple to find out the maximum refresh rate. Is this so because the driver can give incorrect results back?
