Here is something I wipped up. Its not original, its a kind of a copy of a picture of the Halo character. It was done in Paint Shop Pro.

st0ven, where did you learn to do that lovely shading? Can you point me to a book or website?
many years of practice my friend... actually, its not that difficult really very similar to cross hatch shading. use overlapping line in opposing direction and voila
