is java best for a linux type game?

think java would be best? I want to make a linux java rpg but I'm not sure if java is the best bet....
Use whatever language you are most comfortable with. If you are comfortable with Java, that would be a fine choice.
All popular languages (except maybe Visual Basic) have good Linux implementations, so the OS shouldn't affect your decision too much.
