Hi I am pretty new to game developpement and I learn a bit of Directx from several tutorials.

The offcial directX "manual" is the help file included with the DirectX SDK you must have downloaded from Microsoft. The help file can be started from the icons installed tegether with the SDK.

yup but the real problem is that u cant download anymore directx 7.0 from microsoft, so no manual available at least for 7.0. And 8.0 has no manual I think and no DirectDraw so thx for your advice but I am still in problem
You can still access the Directx 7 interfaces from Directx 8. Here is a link to where you can download the Directx 7.1 documentation.
