Voxel Engine Update - Volumetric Water

In these screenshots are some volumetric water that I added to my voxel engine. Instead of using a plane (quad) for rendering water, water is actually represented volumetrically by thousands or millions of voxels. You can see this in the cut-away view.

Is this a real hardware accellearated voxel raster? Or is it just cubes like Minecraft?
