Developer Design Feedback (a la Cubeworld)

Hey guys, I've been doing this video series on Youtube where I give the developers of Cubeworld some feedback on their design. I'm thinking that this could potentially be an interesting watch for you designers out there, well you'll decide.

My plan is to get through Cubeworld Alpha and comment on every single detail that I find worth commenting on, and in the future I might do the same for similar games. Now, whether I can really add something into the mix that you game designers didn't already think about, well you'll have to be the judge of that. All I know is that Cubeworld and similar games really fuel my imagination, because I see the level of potential that they got. I got some background in game design too (500+ games played/analyzed, lots of books read and more), and I just felt like this could be a nice thing to do for the developers out there, especially new ones.

Well, I'll let you decide if I'm doing a good or bad job at it. I probably got a lot of bad ideas too, as do we all. But I just thought I'd share this first series with you. Let me know what you think.

(Oh and if you think I got a few too many dislikes, it's because some Einstein on Youtube decided to do a prank on me and dislike every single video that I got, 5 times each. LOL)

I hope you like my ideas.

Maybe this isn't the kind of feedback you're expecting, and I haven't watched the whole movie (I'm probably not the intended audience), but I like it that you've really thought about the things you're talking about and that it comes through to the viewer. You've also got a great voice for doing this kind of stuff, which is something I'm quite sensitive to. So, yeah, go ahead! biggrin.png

Thanks a lot for the supportive feedback, I really appreciate that. I know that most developers are probably as eager as myself and already capable of seeing these things that I mention. At the same time, I cannot help but to see the reality of so many poorly designed games out there that could've been a little better if the devs had just done things slightly differently (ubless it's the publishers who mess everything up haha). I think a lot of these Alphas have a lot of potential, especially when the devs are eager to listen to player feedback and try to see what boils to the top in the discussions. :)
