what is the origin of your nickname/Internet handle?

Hi everyone

The topic says it all!

I will start. When I was at college I got called brain as everyone thought I was going to take over the world. My friend got called pinky, my nickname stuck and his didn't.

Later on I formed a demo group (anyone remember those?) called digitalis after the plant poison from the foxglove plant. The demo group didn't last but the nick I had at the time (brain/digitalis) was so unique I started using it for forums as I could guarantee it wasn't taken already. So that explains that.

What about you people? Curious to find out!

Like many here, it's from my actual name: jbadams for Jason Bradley Adams (since hyphenated to Astle-Adams.

Quite some time ago I used to go by 'Kazgoroth', taken from a monster in a series of Forgotten Realms novels.

honestly i don't know why i chose this handle, i've used it since i was probably 10 or 11, and have no memory of what made me choose this.

I like skunks.

But I wanted it to be more badass so I made it flaming, since everyone knows that flames make anything badass.

I seem to recall running through an entire list of names which were already taken, before settling on this one out of frustration. Then it stuck.

No no, it is obviously beards that make everything badass, just ask chuck norris...

I've always been unimaginatively calling myself 'jacmoe' - first 3 letters from my first name and first three letters from my last name. :p

Too many projects; too much time

I'm pretty sure mine was self invented as when i found it i googled the net and nothing came up, then i did it 2 years later and the only other thing that came up (which i'm pretty sure was named before i used the name AND i'm also damn sure i had never heard of) was a small mine in a third world country . . .

Mine dates back from the mid-to-late 90s when my family first got dial up (AOL) internet. Obviously I'm a Nicholas, and I really like Sci-fi, or more specifically, space adventures (when I was a kid I wanted to be an astronaut!). So Star + Nick...Starnick. It's been my handle ever since.

my hobby/ passion car (for 14 years, sold 2 months ago) was a siërra cosworth, also known as a cossie.

Hence, cozzie. It's now used in so many places, even the car is gone, I don't want to go through the hassle of changing it
