Project Genom is getting ready for release on Steam Greenlight. Everyone who has shown their support for our project during development will finally have a chance to experience the highly anticipated playable alpha version of the game. Over the past month the team has been transferring the game to the new Unreal Engine 4 and is now ready to present the first gameplay video.

TEASER

Ready as of now:

Closed locations. Players can walk around the spaceship that has crashed on Avalon. After the crash, it became the only safe haven for people on this hostile planet. People have gradually turned it into a lively town with its secrets and go-to places.

Open locations. A part of the Green Hills location is ready. It is the first zone where a player will encounter the aggressive flora and fauna of Avalon. The hills are full of life: researchers explore the environment, patrols guard the outposts, while players look for adventures.

“Non-target” combat system. The game uses the “non-target” combat system that is not typical for an MMORPG. Players have to maneuver, find shelter and, of course, aim.

Battles. Enemies in the game are numerous, and you can easily find yourself an adventure right outside the ship where among massive rocks you can meet small but not-so-peaceful Diggers. At the moment, you can use two types of weapons: rifles and pistols.

Loot. Players can loot equipment, weapons and ingredients. All of it shows in the inventory which has been significantly redesigned. Items can also be compared against each other and disassembled.

To be implemented:

Closed locations. The number of chambers on the ark will be largely increased. There will be secret rooms and closed zones that will open only after certain quests are completed. Mines and caves in Avalon jungles will also be available.

Open locations. The Green Hills location will be completed and will cover the area of 16 square kilometers (over 6 square miles). There will be secrets and areas the access to which will require from you everything and even a little bit more.

Battles. Players will be able to use not only rifles and pistols, but also shotguns, sniper rifles, swords and glaives. Enemies’ AI will also be increased. Battles will be even more fascinating when your enemy will have vulnerable body parts, the damage to which can determine the outcome of a fight.

Transport. Players will have a possibility to move around a location on public transport, traveling by land and by air. For example, a special set of wings will allow you to fly over the ground and cross long distances in a matter of minutes.

Pets. You will be able to travel and fight together with a robot or an animal. They are pretty good at multitasking, as they can shoot, protect and even heal.

Leveling system. Players will finally be able to level their characters up. With each level, new skills will become available, being activated upon the completion of certain quests. The level of skills themselves will grow as you use appropriate items and weapons.
