This is to all those game developers and animators out there!
As a student, I am writing a business plan for a developer that wants to license a new software solution package to solve motion problems with inverse kinematics. Those familiar with FABRIK and CCD should know what kinds of solutions are out there now and their strengths/weaknesses. I am looking to gauge how valuable improved IK systems are to game developers and animators.
This new IK System would offer the following advantages:
Branching IK
Procedural animation
Dynamic run time properties
Minimum motion targets
Scalability
Multiplatform solutions
Non iterative solutions
Less computationally intensive solutions
Improved accuracy
Translational IK approach (vs. rotational)
Cartesian joint constraint system
My question for those who utilize IK systems is..
How much would you realistically pay (per year) to license this software package that would include the IK system, Constraint system, user demo videos, and customer support?
