Looking for examples of procedurally animated fencing / brawling games

I've been ideating on something to develop, and while I feel procedural animation is already well-trodden, I like to play around with it. Doesn't everybody like to play around with it? So instead of coming up with something cutting-edge, what if I just make a procedural animation sandbox dedicated to just letting non-coders play around with some ideas like that? Even the idea of raising 2D brawlers that learn to spar against each other and continuously refine themselves could be a fun way to raise little creatures and set them down against each other. Complete with a toolbox for neural net training, et cetera, where the joints of creatures/brawlers is connected by modular limbs and joints.

Anyways, I'm looking to see how much of it has already been done by others; any known games similar, with 2D procedurally animated brawling and physics mechanics? In my mind I want to come up with something a little Niddhogg-esque but with procedural fighters.
