What makes some good math/computer science good for games?

Zombies Took My Daughter (set cover problem), I Have 1 Day (scheduling problems) and Planarity (planar graphs) are all games that are based on math problems. What makes these problems suitable to make a game based on them? Can some other problems, such as graph coloring or 3SAT, also be good to base a game around?

Moving to the lounge.

Any logic problem or routine can make a good game, if done well. Just look at sorting routines that are popular as mobile games, or the Towers of Hanoi problem turned into card games like freecell.
