To game design novices or students: Would you be interested in joining a gaming studio that practices an open studio concept?

What are we trying to do?
Our game studio serves as a platform where novices and students can observe, learn, and interact with a real working studio environment. They have the opportunity to engage with seasoned industry professionals for feedback and critiques, particularly within the realm of game design, at no cost, as part of the studio's community enrichment philosophy.

How does it work?
Our studio operates digitally through Discord. Once a member joins us, they gain access to all our channels, including those for 2D, 3D, and animation. Here, they can observe our work in progress and engage with each relevant team. While participation is voluntary and dependent on their availability, we have a community developer who facilitates communication between those within and outside the Discord studio server's boundaries. Additionally, they can share their personal artwork for critique and feedback from our development team.

There is no cost, no hidden caveat, and if you find yourself amongst likeminded individuals, we're happy to have you there. If you feel like it isn't quite your cup of tea, we're happy to have met you.

Why are we doing this?
Our ethics and values are grounded in recognising the challenges facing the gaming industry, including widespread layoffs and corporate oversight. We believe in demystifying the studio environment and showcasing the realities of game development. While it may not always be glamorous or lucrative, we demonstrate how passionate and creative individuals can turn their skills into a viable career. Our international team, spanning from Canada to Malaysia and Italy, operates 100% remotely. We also provide opportunities for individuals to share their skills with us, and if their expertise aligns with our needs, we're open to contracting them.

Edit: This is not an internship; rather, we aim to share our work processes with anyone curious about the realities of working in the creative digital industry. We do not ask our community to do any work for us, and on a principled level, we do not believe in unpaid internships.
