Hi, I would like to know of a program capable of producing .x files so I don''t have to put all those values there by myself. That is, a program like 3dstudio max, or blender, that is capable of exporting .x files. thanks zilch_

3D Canvas from Amabilis is very reasonnably priced. ( 40 bucks or so )

They also have a limited free version but afaik, this one cannot export X files.

Where do I get a .3ds -> .x converter?

You might want to check out Animation:Master. It only costs $199, and I've written a .X exporter that works with it.

You could actually export other file formats to.x file format instead of modelling and saving directly to .x files.You can easily find a converter to do this...Even the directx sdk has one included...However, if u want to make native .x models you can make them with the programs that the guys above suggested
