Well, I''m ending my freshman year in college, decided not to follow the Computer Science route because I recently decided that I HATE programming. I got into it because I''ve always dreamed of being a game designer, and in the past years I''ve been studying up on it. Still, I have a few questions. If I had my way (which I probably won''t), I would love to be a character/storyboard/script etc...designer. I LOVE to write, and I feel that I may have some good ideas if given the chance to implement them. Well, if anyone is knowledgable on this subject, what are some of the career options open to me? Also, what kind of course of study would I need throughout college? Please help! Thanks!

I would go for the art education (3d modelling, animation, etc.) - even if you have a degree in game design it doesn´t mean that you will get a job doing that, usually game design guys work their way up from QA or programming or art... and if you want to be a good game designer you should at least know the basics of programming, otherwise your job will become a lot harder.

Sorry to hijack this thread, but Sage13, could you please make your signature a bit smaller? The idea is to have something that uniquely identifies you, perhaps with a little extra information, not stuff that fills up the entire screen!
