SAN FRANCISCO – February 12, 2024 – Forge, a gaming platform designed to connect and reward gamers for their gaming achievements, kicks off Season 1 today. Following a hugely successful launch in October and subsequent Season 0 beta period, today Forge adds a bounty of top-tier gaming partners, rewards, expanded Season Pass and other new features for developers and gamers alike. The Season 1 partners include Shrapnel, Pixels, Parallel, Blocklords, Army of Fortune and E4C: Final Arena, each of which are offering Forge users the ability to earn in-game rewards and achievements through the Forge platform. With a bigger Season Pass and new social features, Forge Season 1 promises to keep building on the momentum and user excitement from the beta period.

Launched in the Fall of 2023, Forge’s Season 0 saw a massive influx of user sign-ups, with nearly 300,000 players across 188 countries jumping in to start earning and growing their online gaming profiles. The Forge community has swelled to over 140,000 strong on Discord and X, with tens of thousands participating in community AMAs, giveaways and events. In total, over 20 games have launched on Forge with over 4.6M quests completed by the Forge community.

“The player reaction to Forge has been incredible even at this early stage – gamers all over the world have responded with a passion that makes us excited for the future of the platform,” said Kun Gao, co-founder of Forge. “We have massive plans for Season 1 and beyond, with some exciting new partners that believe in Forge and our community. We can’t wait to see the future as we continue to build the platform with them.”

In addition to the rewards for users, one of the other headlining additions is the Forge API for game developers, making it easier than ever for game developers to set up Forge quests that tie directly into their games.

Founded by gaming pioneer Dennis “Thresh” Fong, Crunchyroll founder Kun Gao, and Cyence founder George Ng, Forge originated as a project within GGWP, an AI-powered game moderation platform that the team launched in 2020, Forge’s mission is to help gamers unlock the value of their gaming profiles and be rewarded for their contributions to gaming communities.

The platform launched in late 2023 with an $11 million seed funding round, led by Makers Fund, BITKRAFT Ventures, and Animoca Brands, with participation from Hashkey Capital, Polygon Ventures, Formless Capital and Adaverse. Forge’s existing investors include industry-leading strategics such as Griffin Gaming Partners, Riot Games, and Sony Innovation Fund. Forge’s angel investors include gaming industry leaders Riot Games founder Marc Merrill, Twitch founders Emmett Shear and Kevin Lin, TSM founder Dan Dinh, Kabam founders Kevin Chou and Holly Liu, YouTube founder Steve Chen, Krafton CEO CH Kim, former Discord CMO Eros Resmini (The Mini Fund), and ESL founder Ralf Reichart.
