We are nearing completion of the first release of BYOND: a system to build and play text or tile-based networked games. It can be found at http://www.byond.com. Enjoy!

Wow. If you could pull something off like that I would be very impressed. Sounds almost too good to be true. A chat program in two lines of code or less? I''ll have to check this out.

Thanks! I hope you will find some interest in the program. We have tried to make it fairly general for all kinds of game & utility programming, but are admittedly limited in terms of our graphical ability (currently only fixed square tiles). We''ll get to that aspect eventually. However, the networking component is excellent. This week I''m going to try to write Napster in 100 lines or less

I just discovered these forums the other day, and I am kicking myself for not encountering them earlier. There are all sorts of tricks to be learned here, not to mention a whole audience of knowledgeable coders.
