Adding a way to exit a MIDlet without displaying a bar.

i took out the default bar with the default commandListener "Back" as this took up a lot of screen space.
How can i still allow the use of that "back" button without showing it on the screen?

i forgot to mention that i would like to use the red cancel button (phone hang-up button) as the button to exit from anywhere and any time (possibly popping up a confirm window).
how can i override that button?
is it a Command?
