Nokia 6600 httpconnection problem.
I cant get this to work. And all post/replies on Nokia''s forum suggest that there is no solution to this.
The problem:
doing an httpconnection under a midlet does not work, there is an infinite hang it seems.
any one have insight into this?
I heard the 6600 was full of bugs at launch, and still is. A developer I work with who is doing some stuff for Nokia (ie. contracted by Nokia for content) has paused their work on the 6600 because of the problems.
I''m currently working on the Nokia 6600. I''m porting a s60 game
onto it. What porting I hear you say? 6600 is already s60 right?
Yeah, well, maybe but a call to DirectUtils.drawPixels(...) is
not working. It''s throwing an ArrayIndexOutOfBoundsException even
though I''ve verified that all the parameters are valid, so much so that the code works fine on a 3660.
Does anyone have any info regarding problems with 6600? Any other
forums/websites that discuss the probs in more detail? I''m thinking of upgrading the firmware to 4.07 (latest I beleive) from 3.42.1 Is this wise? Any known issues with the new firmware or a list of what it fixes?
Any help greatly appreciated.
Wayne.
