Hi, I''m thinking of moving into developing games for Symbian OS on smartphones, but I can find little information on how well they do, so I have a few questions... How well do Symbian games sell? What in your opinion are the pros and cons of using Symbian over J2ME? Which symbian channels do developers tend to distribute their games through? Do any carriers and operators yet distribute Symbian games? With series 60 and 3G on the horizon, I can see a future for high powered downloadable Symbian apps, although I might be wrong. What is everyone''s opinion on this? Thanks Chris

You should check wgamer.com/forum, forum Hash. There is a lot of posting there, which basically tell you can not make a living as an small/indie smartphone developer. However, IMHO you should take this stamentns with the grain of solt: check the games on the market - 95% of them is a pure crap. So my conclusion is - if your are going to make high-quality, well polished games with a lot of content you have a chance. If your are looking for low-budget quick to produce games/clones better not to bother - the market is saturated by them.
Hi,

For Symbian games You can try first sell via Handango and
my-symbian.com. Also it''s good to suggest You game to manufactures. And after this go to online re-sellers and content agregators. But I also recomend get a dial only with bigger only.
Right now this games sell not very vell. You can have much more from PDA. Real big money You can get only from publisher deal.
I think I''m going to stick with Symbian, the reason being I think they''re going to get a lot bigger.

After being very impressed by Freedom Force , and reading about Nokia''s takeover of Psion shares in Symbian, I believe it will be a good move.

How would you go about approaching a publisher anyway? I''ve noticed that TibiaME managed to get published by TMobile, and I''ve got a good idea which I''m going to put together in the next several months.
