Hello, i while ago i was reading that nehe was selling his site, i read that blog thing. but now i see its gone...what ever happined? was the site sold...or not?

No, he's saying he opened it in his web browser. GameDev owns NeHe's site (more or less [wink])

oh, anyway ive not heard from nehe in a long time do you have any clue why his contact and personell info has gone??

For those that do not know, NeHe, has gone through some rough times over the last 5 years or so. . . All of this information is just stuff that I have picked up through this site (from NeHe's news postings) and from other Staff members of GameDev.

For starters - when I first came to this site, he was dealing with his mom's long illness as well as his brother's dyalisys. Since his mom and brother could not really work, he was (along with his dad) trying to support the family and pay for medical bills.

Then, him mom passed away (late '01) - from what I understand NeHe's dad did not take it too well. Add a boatload of unpaid medical bills to the situation and you can see how things wern't exactially too fun for NeHe and his family

His brother, from what I understand, has his good days and bad days with his illness. I'm not sure eaxactially what problems that he has other than that his Kidneys are not too good and that he needs dyalisys. This has been going on for years now and must be taking it's toll.

Throughout it all Nehe has tried to run this site, and has put up with more BS than anyone I know. If you read the news and his posts, you can see how NeHe can get frustrated with people contantly ripping code and ideas off of him, asking him for help and then expecting it right away (and then bitching at him when it takes him a few days to reply). I will honestly say that whenever I had a question for Nehe, he always responded and provided me with at least some ideas on what I could try to fix my issues.

Now reciently, he has just lost his girlfriend of 8 plus years. So you might be able to see why Nehe could just need a break to figgure out some stuff. He mentioned that he was in about $15k worth of debt, and I am guessing that this is due to the medical bills (from his Mom and Brother) and other "issues" that he has had to deal with over the last 5 plus years.

For his sake, I hope that NeHe can find some light at the end of the tunnel and hopefully something good can happen to him soon. From what I know of him, NeHe is a really good guy whom just has had the worst of luck . . .

The one thing that bothers me about NeHe is that he is not a Software Engineer in his professional life, and he should be. I know he has recieved job offers in the past, and could easially find a higher paying job, but for some reason (probibly to stay close to his family) he will not take a better job offer.
