Hello...

My Real Time Strategy (RTS) game concept allows you to practice answering your basic math facts, for whole numbers and integers, for the basic operations of addition, subtraction, multiplication and division, in a fun way, as they fall from the top of the screen. The game will track your highest score achieved, as incentive to improve future game scores, and hence, ultimately, your math facts recall. Target platform would be mobile platforms.

My game concept will demonstrate usability primarily via the following three functions:

  1. A one row Software Keyboard, centered at the bottom of the screen, will facilitate numeric answer entry via keys 0-9; a backspace key, to erase answers, located on the far right of the numeric keys; and an Escape key, located on the far left of the numeric keys, that will allow users to place on hold an equation they don’t know the answer for at the moment it is falling onto the game board from the top.

  1. A single software clickable button that toggles between Pause and Continue symbols, where the arrow doubles as the Start button to begin game play and the Continue button once game play has begun.

  1. Prior to game board appearing on the screen, two groups of clickable check boxes will be used to collect user preferences to configure the game. The first group will contain Addition, Subtraction, Multiplication, and Division, where 1-4 operations can be chosen; the second group will contain Whole Numbers and Integers, where 1-2 number types can be selected.

What are your thoughts and recommendations? I am open to suggestions and improvements.

Thanks!

Can you provide a grayscale wireframe of this idea?

The "escape" key seems like a potential source of confusion, and may be better labeled as "pass", "skip", or some other semantically meaningful term.

I don't currently have a grayscale wireframe completed, Orymus3. Thanks for the escape key tip, jbadams; that makes alot more sense!
