CAN SOMEONE HELP? IT IS FOOLISH FOR A WISE MAN TO BE SILENT, BUT WISE FOR A FOOL. MATTHEW WEBMASTER WWW.MATT-LAND.COM ALL YOUR XBOX BASE ARE BELONG TO NINTENDO.

Probably a keyboard error, your caps lock key seems to be broken.

I was going to say that before, too. But I decided to keep my mouth shut.

Go to Cone3D and take the first tutorial. It is about initialization.

Good luck.

No need to yell...

The segfault is probably caused by an uninitialized pointer. That''s about all I can say given the amount of detail you provided.

Providing code sample, telling us which version of SDL, on which system, how it was installed (source tarball, CVS, RPM, DEB, etc), if you tried to reinstall it, etc, would help a lot.

Ah and using lower case would help too.
GO READ THE THREAD, THEY DID IT AGAIN IN THE LOUNGE TO FIND OUT WHY I AM YELLING, I CAN''T HELP IT. I FOUND THE PROBLEM, I WAS CREATING A UINT32 TYPE GOLBAL VAR AND FOR SOME REASON THIS CAUSED A SEGFAULT. ONCE I PUT THE VAR DECLEARATION IN MY MAIN FUNCTION THE PROGRAM WORKED.

MAYBE IT WOULD HELP IF YOU DISMANTLED YOUR KEYBOARD, REMOVED THE CAPS LOCK KEY, AND THREW IT OUT THE WINDOW.
