I think I have a solution. It's less of a fix and more of me archiving this POS, getting my backup from the old version, and modifying it's systems to accommodate the features I want (like the layered sprites and reflection.) I'll spend the rest of tonight working on this system because it is a lot better, but we'll see.
Well, I hate to say it, but I'm not going to be putting out a demo today. I was doing good up until I tried making a larger map and found some strange bug. For some reason when I make a map that is larger than 16 tiles on either axis, the lighting breaks. Doesn't go totally away, it just gets offset by 5x5 or so tiles. Makes absolutely no sense, seeing as how my data says that the light is at {0,0}.
