Lots of Learning

OK, I am already in the process of teaching myself C++. In October, I am taking a class for C Programming. Now, my boss wants me to learn SQL for work. I was thinking of picking up a book to learn MySQL.

I REALLY want to learn C++ for game programming, but I am a little worried about trying to learn too many things at once. I do feel that learning SQL will really help in the future since a lot of games are becoming multiplayer.

I suppose I could treat it as another class, spend one (or two) nights a week on MySQL...

What level of SQL does he expect you to have? The basics of SQL aren't too hard and you can pick them up pretty quickly by looking over the stuff on W3Schools.

Actually, I took the little test from w3schools and got 19 out of 20. I know SQL only from developing an Access database for our company. I just figured using MySQL on the web would be much different.

I am also developing a website for my brother-in-law, he wants an online auction for ATV's, maybe a similar format to playerauctions.com; looks a lot tougher to me.
