So yeah here's a cut of the previously mentioned song. I'm a little happier with it since I redid my track, but I think it still sounds like shit (it = my stuff, the rhythm and secondary solo are my friends work and it's fantastic).
It's only a preliminary recording, and there's work left to be done on it. Regardless, give it a listen, let me know what you think*.
Enjoy bitches.
*A warning to those who don't like shred: Don't bother listening, you won't like this.
Thanks for the comments. Hopefully Jason will get off his ass this weekend and do some fixups on it.

I did it right in front of my computer, using Cakewalk Sonar 6.0, a Pod XT and my trusty (and severely neglected) Ibanez JS-100 guitar.

I tried that piece you posted. Sweet zombie jesus that's not easy. I think I'll have to keep at it until I master it (I'm crazy like that). I know I've heard the piece (in contemporary media) before, but for the life of me I can't place it - I keep wanting to say the duel in Crossroads with Ralph Macchio and Steve Vai, but I don't know for sure.
Sounds very Joe... Though I hate it when people say stuff like that to me. [smile]
Marty Friedman and/or Paganini = good sweep picking exercises.
