I can't stop panicking every half hour so that GDC starts tomorrow and I'm not ready. Then I remember that it actually starts Tuesday this year. Yea, it's really fucking with my head. But anyways, most of the GDNet crew pulled into town today, so we all gathered at Lefty O'douls next to Union Square to catch up for a bit:

Left to right we have Julian Spillane, Scott "Shilbert" Hilbert, Tim "nes8bit" Barnes, Alex, Ian "The_Senshi" Overgard, Trent "mittens" Polack, (yours truly), Dave "InnocuousFox" Mark, and the hand next to him belongs to Dave "Myopic Rhino" Astle. Melissa "Frizzlefry" Astle is taking the picture.

So yea that was pretty awesome. I mean... I finally met nes8bit! Yea, that little terror of a troll from all those years ago - the one who's been banned from GDNet countless times for countless reasons (most recently by myself, bwahahahaah). As is the case for when you meet someone in real life tho, it's a radical shift of perspective - he's actually a pretty cool guy. Tho all he talks about is goatse [wink]. Little bastard. I'm scarred for life cause of him (although at the same time I'm largely desensitized as well).

So yea, John Hattan was also at Lefty's for a while before leaving early to get some sleep before covering the Flash Games Summit tomorrow. He brought along a bagful of GDNet pens for us to give out at the both - very few were even of the older fat pen design:

We only have like 3 left so they'll prob go to any of the staff/mods in attendance who claim them first - sorry! But we have at least 30 of the newer two-tone pens (modeled here by Myopic Rhino):

So tomorrow morning the whole crew is going to gather and we'll go over what everyone's covering, who's twittering where and who's blogging where, as well as getting the GDC coverage page up online, etc etc.

You waited until I left to take the friggin' group picture?

And people wonder why I've never considered myself a real part of the gamedev family?

Sheesh, guys.
