I released a new version of Merc Tactics.
It can be found here: http://astronautz.com/MercTactics/MercTacticsSetup.exe
Instructions on how to play here: http://astronautz.com/MercTactics/help.html
The game should now work on practically any GPU. I relaxed the OpenGL requirement to 2.1 and tested that it works even on an ancient GeForce 7600 GS.
Also, there are a lot of bux fixes, tweeks, improvements and some new features.

I got a kick out of, "Most guns will break when dropped"

(yeah, I know it's for gameplay reasons, but it just made me laugh a little)

I don't know any other way of solving the problem of the player getting too many guns without having earned them.

I'm not sure what the problem is for

What's the problem with a player having 100 guns. They can only shoot one, maybe two? If they're fighting against crappy mercenaries, the enemy's guns are going to be probably lower quality and in poorer condition than their own weapons. I say, let them have the guns. smile.png

And if killing the guy that's holding the gun isn't "earning the gun", I'm not sure what is...

Tax Auditor: That doesn't make sense. Where did you get the gun?
Sam Ax: Well, the gun had an owner... This thing happened... Then the gun didn't have an owner anymore.
Tax Auditor: We'll just file that under windfall.

I suppose I could allow all weapons to be picked up, if they are equal to or worse than the ones that the player already has, but I still have to restrict how many good weapons the player can recieve in one battle. Then, the player could sell the extra weapons for cash.

Yeah, I think I fixed that bug already.

The game is specifically designed so that you don't have to rotate the camera. The reason is because this game is designed for tablets. Trying to rotate and pan the camera on a tablet is just too clumsy.
