6 weeks.

So I finally decided to go ahead and weigh myself again yesterday; I've been putting it off for a few weeks, because I dreaded seeing it...

And I was pleasantly surprised.

I'm down 5 pounds over the past 6 weeks, which, while it isn't a stellar improvement, is still better than nothing. I would have liked to have gone down 7-8 pounds instead, but I'll gladly take 5.

So now I'm down to 365 pounds. Huzzah.

Only 140 more to go :P

I had about a pound of change in my pocket too, so I'm probably closer to 364, but it really doesn't matter. And don't ask my why I had a pound of change in my pocket.

Great stuff!!...it's best to take the weight off slowly anyway - it should stay off, whereas, people that lose weight quicker tend to put much or all of it back on again after a while.

Keep up the good work and then we can have a before/after piccie when you're done! :)

Congratulations!

I myself just came off a weight plateau. Last May I was over 275, but through atkins and alot of basketball I was able to get to 220 in 8 months or so.

But, then I was stuck for 6 months at 220. In the past few weeks, I have started up my strength training again, and started playing hoops 4 times per week instead of 3, and now I am 216 and dropping.

Some things that helped me get off the plateau :

1) Drinking more diet soda. I cut out caffeine to avoid the withdrawal headaches when I forgot to drink some. Then, to compensate for the lack of flavor, I drank too many atkins shakes ( 200 calories per ), or had too many atkins granola bars, etc. I switched to non-caffeine diet soda and now I eat less. I also stopped buying the really convenient snacks.

2) Make snacking a PITA. I stopped buying the shakes, granola and protein bars. Now I have to make myself a frozen pizza or something that takes several minutes to cook. It's a lot harder to just randomly eat when you have to prepare it first.

And have you tried those new protein puddings? They are really good, no sugar, not much fat, and only 100 calories a pop.

Good luck and keep it up!

Glad everyone is doing good. Great job Mith.

i too have been losing weight. I started being serious about 4 weeks ago and when I weighed in yesterday, I have lost a total of 20 pounds in 4 weeks. Down from 409 to 389. Even that little loss in weight has made a difference in how my joints feel.

Keep up the good work all!
