The Ballad of the Overzealous Newbie "I want to build a game today," Said a newbie one fine day. "An MMO it's sure to be, Where everybody plays for free. Peer to peer should cut my costs, It's lightning fast, no data loss. And since I don't know C++, Visual Basic is a must. The graphics will be next to none, Supported by my Voodoo 1. My cable modem's on its way Till then we run at 56K I need some coders, plus a few artists and a sound guy too. I cannot pay a salary, Until we're big, you'll work for free. Now, my ideas you'll have to heed, Cause my role is the project lead." The post sat quiet for a while Because it's contents were so vile. And then while feeling very nice We gave the newbie sound advice "Your vision is so very grand, but things won't go as you have planned. You need to start with something small, Or else you're guarunteed to fall." He answered us in fits of rage: "You're discriminating by my age!" Our very souls he tried to crush, with words to make a sailor blush. "Your deaths are sealed by my hand!!!" With that the newbie became banned. To this day you're sure to find, others of the newbie's kind. Some will listen and improve, Some will just throw off our groove. And when the newbies scream with hate. At least we have a nice escape. We can leave and come back later, be glad you're not a moderator. ------------------------------------------------------------- I was way too bored at work today.
