sorry i must be blind. i don't see much difference between the two animation except the bottom one has a thick border (which you should lessen by the way). They're both great by the way... sorry for not being helpful.

Looks good to me, though they're a little too 'bouncy'
Top one. Don't really like that border, makes it look like something from a click 'n drag program...
The black border has jaggies when displayed against the gray background, and that bugs me a bit. #1 doesn't seem to have that problem, but that might just be because it was originally rendered against a gray background anyway, or gray simply blends halfway well with whatever it was blended against.

So my vote goes for #1, but if the black border were a little be softer, and the jaggies were removed, I might prefer #2 instead.

Nice job! I personaly prefer #1
I'm leaning towards #1...maybe #2 if the border was very slight.

I understand that you like the "modern Cartoon look" with the black border and all but there are a few problems with that. As stated before, the black border gives off jaggies and that looks unprofessional, while the cartoons use vectors so you can resize without things getting pixelated. I think what you are missing here is that those cartoons dont just put a thick border around the whole character. Usually each important piece of the body has its own thick black outline. Try googling for pictures of powerpuff girls to see what I mean.

As of now, the borderless version looks much cleaner.

The border conflicts with the rest of the bulldozer too much. That sort of cartoon will have solid colours and low detail, with solid shading (if any). And, as Liquid Darkness pointed out, borders wouldn't only be around the outside.

#2 is just a big style clash. Stick with #1.
