MUI - Magic User Interface.
man is manual pages. The unix standard of textpages containing information about everything.

I wouldnt, they are there for a reason. And if it came with a program that you installed, you should look into what it is. Maybe it's their own fileformat and they just didnt think it thru when they chose the name.
