Vegetation in Crysis, etc..

Well if you look at how FarCry rendered leaves, they were just 1/4 spheres, or bent quads with textures on them. And if you orient them correctly, they look perfect. You don't need a mesh for every single leaf necessarily.

Well of course I know that.. its just that even with mesh geometry with alpha masking its hard to get a good look without a large number of polygons, becasue you can see leaf texture from from very narrow angles so its looks wierd
