the dirextX sdk 9 sample codes don't run in vc++ 2005 it cant find the windows.h file and others is this and other files removed from vc. it could be me not knowing what im doing. and i cant even find it on my computer.

Do you have the Microsoft Platform SDK? Otherwise, you wouldn't have windows.h and therefore couldn't build a windowed app.

Setting up your IDE and build tools is more of a 'For Beginners' discussion - moved. The DirectX forum is for specific design/programming problems regarding the DX libraries.
